Opportunities for promotions are rare, and profit-sharing could be better for lower tiers. US-based employees are now expensive and on the decline where hiring is concerned.

For a true performance driven individual there is a lack of reward for efforts or sales objective achieved. The model has gone away from being performance based and become more of a salaried position. The only way to increase pay to continue to move up the ladder through job titles.
