Pros

Good work-life balance and flexibility with the option to work remotely on occasion. Good benefits and savings options. Encourages learning and growth

Cons

Too much instability. Every two years or so there was a reorganization, so there was a lack of job security. And the work space kept changing from cubicles to open floor plans. The latest "smart space" with no assigned seating was not pleasant, and could be very loud.

Pros

Could obtain a pay check so that I could feed my family. Gained experience on how to work for a pointless company. I am confident that I can work anywhere now.

Cons

There is a Biopharm CMC group in US in King of Prussia. That entire group can be laid off without affecting the GSK bottomline. They create unnecessary projects just to keep people busy. Whenever scientists accomplish something, the management portrays it as their own success and get bonuses for themselves while writing bad reviews for scientists. The whole group is full of managers, directors, VPs, project managers with couple of workers. So if you do any work, be prepared to get criticism from multiple managers packaged as "feedback". I left that place and I have been happy ever since.

Pros

Great benefits and pay.

Cons

-lots of uncertainty and resentment at the way people are treated. -lack of credibility of senior management -forced distribution of performance ratings by line management -impossible to get promoted unless you're a management favorite (good ol' boys club mentality) -sales operation operates in fear. -lost most great reps and left with only new reps or mediocre performers -VERY stressful work environment
