Pros

The only thing redeeming is the very few good people working there and most of them have left or been got rid of

Cons

Where to begin? 1. Disorganised - requests fired at you in last minute dot com culture where the exec leadership team challenge no requests from on high 2. Death by PowerPoint - the template is already 165 pages then the region will share extra templates from other countries - just to keep themselves busy and in a job. 3. It’s the hunger games and no exec team member has your back. They have fed staff to the wolves in global meetings (and sat back and look like they enjoy it ) 4. Staff cry so much as the behaviours are so beyond anything that some staff do checks of the quiet room to check in on who’s not coping this week 5. Don’t be sold on the fancy building. You’ll be kept too busy for yoga or meditation 6. The floor design is as sterile as the culture , so that’s a perfect reflection 7. There’s an inner circle of protected staffers who aren’t that good at what they do, but they do play politics extremely well. A* for their politics 8. How to know if you’re in the inner sanctum: you get taken to lunch a lot and they don’t look over their shoulder when talking to you to see who’s more interesting over your shoulder. Oh, and they say hello. Many staff get blanked by leadership 9. Most recent promotions are a couple of titles above where they would sit anywhere else, which speaks to how bad the company is. 10. People will talk over you aggressively all the time - literally interrupt you. That, or they dismiss what you say then use what you said to the region in a call later on. 11. The pay and perks may look good , less so when you figure out the hourly rate you’re actually being paid 12. The region jokes they want Oz to have the work ethic of other countries like Korea, who work 20 hours a day if needed 13 meetings have been called on public holidays and it’s been mandated that you attend. What exec team is too weak to tell the region ‘no to this, not when the team work excessively for you day in day out’ 14. Remember that the ELT are all getting share payouts. They will do whatever it takes to hold onto their roles and close ranks. If you challenge them, your days may be numbered. 15. Galderma are getting such a bad reputation with recruiters that staying there too long tarnishes your reputation 16. If you love talking sports and drinking beer down the pub, this is where some debrief meetings happened. Only selective people get invited. See #8. It’s almost like it’s the 90s again. 17. They only pretend to embrace WFH. Ideally, you are in every day and willing to work late into the nights for all their last minute requests and all the endless meetings called 18. They tolerate entitled behaviours to an excessive degree. It’s worse ; they create the monsters through promoting and rewarding political players

Pros

They have some good products

Cons

Very poor customer focus. There have been many resignations (in double figures) of experienced loyal employees which indicates that this is the direction/plan that management wanted. New management have created a toxic culture, with reports of employee bullying. Unfortunately what was once a great place to work is long gone.

Pros

There is literally nothing good about Galderma Australia

Cons

Lack of Strategy and Leadership: The company lacks any coherent strategy or courage to innovate. The management team is ineffective and incapable of making decisive actions. In my first three months, I witnessed three different colleagues cry to me, feeling bullied by the management. Misleading Achievements: Galderma is excellent at over-inflating its achievements and market position. While they boast about double-digit growth, this is primarily due to channel expansion, not true organic growth, and is unsustainable in the Australian retail environment. Management Issues: The management team prioritizes following guidance from Singapore at the cost of relationships with local retailers. There is a clear favoritism within the consumer team, where only those in the "inner circle" receive support, leaving others and their accounts neglected. This favoritism is blatant and unchecked. Poor Work Environment: The expectation is to work extra long hours, with no real processes or career progression opportunities. The flat structure and immobile higher management mean no room for advancement. While they claim you manage your own career, this is merely a line to placate employees. Ineffective HR: Despite having an HR function, it is ineffective and unresponsive. The entire management team, including middle managers, lack the qualifications and experience necessary for their roles. Always wants more: The regional president and global CEO send emails constantly asking people to work harder, even when they try and acknowledge the work being done its delivered robotically and then immediately followed by we want more output. If you are considering working for Galderma Australia keep in mind you will always be a number and due to the management team being ineffective you always have to cover your back in writing otherwise when the heat is turned up they will pin their dumb decisions on you - be warned
