Pros

Great external brand. Competent research. Great ability to network. Very intelligent people with which to work. Flat organization where you can meet and get to know all leaders in the organization.

Cons

Low pay. Operationally and technologically remedial. Complete lack of self awareness of senior management. True groundbreaking research has not occurred for nearly 15 years. Severe nepotism and good old boy network in place that leads to lack of mobility. Silos abound. Internal struggle among senior managers for power even though the power resides clearly within the family.

Pros

The range of products and clients are interesting. The 'science' behing said products also interesting to read. I worked with some very talented people who bought passion to their roles.

Cons

Family run business and I mean family run. Large chunks of the senior managment team are in their positions only because they have been with the company for 15+ years and spend their weekends hanging out with the family. Lots of talk about flexible schedules which actually translated to an expectation that I would frequently work 60+ hours a week as and when required in return for the very odd afternoon off. Constantly required to fill in surveys regarding my workplace satisfaction without any action ever being taken to remedy anything.
