Pros

Schedule is very flexible. There's always opportunities to learn. People are very friendly. They really focus on your wellbeing here. You get to use the latest technology.

Cons

In software, time off is not as flexible as in other departments of the company. It is limited at least the first 4 years. Also, salaries for developers appear to be below the market, but management doesn't agree with it.

Gallup Response

Gallup has a positive, inclusive culture where people can innovate, do great work, and receive frequent feedback to maximize their talents. Our developers are busy creating industry leading platforms that help drive development, engagement, and performance at many of the world’s biggest and best companies…and our roadmap has planned features years into the future – far from “nothing to do”! With one of the most statistically diverse workgroups in technology, we’re far from a “boys club.” In addition to being led by two female CIOs, we also support many city wide and global initiatives through support in programs like Grace Hopper, Code Crush, and additional local efforts to promote more women pursuing technology degrees. At Gallup, we do not have a set vacation or holiday schedule – we value the freedom to allow individuals to choose what holidays are important to them to celebrate and people should take the vacation time they need and want that aligns with their work, life, experience, and tenure. If employees are unsure of how many days that means or they want a set number, they are encouraged to ask their manager to get a sense of how many seems right. We aren’t going to keep track of it, but individuals can if that helps. My door is always open and I value a conversation at any time so we can avoid any misinterpretation and resolve any challenges. If Gallup wasn’t the right place for you, I do wish you the best of luck in the future and an organization with more structure may be better to help you shine.
