Pros

My job was to do software module testing for aviation products. Many interns in Aviation had similar roles. - Gives interns same responsibilities as full-time associates - Great work-life balance, competitive pay, interns accrue PTO - Voted one of the best intern program by many groups - Dedicated mentors to get interns up to speed

Cons

- Monotonous work in testing sometimes - No communication between two teams, interns are isolated on specific projects No major cons

Pros

Self-described "meritocracy" - internal structure is based on what you contribute rather than formal titles. Reasonable work hours and Kansas City is surprisingly fun for young people

Cons

Prospects for the future are looking dim. Company is struggling to find a new driving product as people move away from personal navigation devices.

Pros

There is a mentorship program and they take it very seriously. I worked on code as an intern that shipped to customers and clients.

Cons

Sometimes there was not much to do. I worked quicker than they expected (I finished my summer project in a week), and they had to scramble to find something new for me to do on multiple occasions.
