Pros

People at all levels are open to networking. Can learn and be part of engagements of different topics. Large breadth of subject matter.

Cons

Getting staffed is a product of your networking efforts. Official staffing methods do not get you staffed. Little Commercial/Private sector clients. Large Public Sector focus Can be tricky to win work as Gartner is not a System Integrator. Market value for Independent Partner is subjective to the client. Work Life balance varies greatly depending on who the Partner is.

Pros

Work life balance Culture Amazing colleagues

Cons

Senior leadership seems to have no empathy for middle and junior management. Change management of any kind is managed extremely poorly. Corporate communication is surprisingly bad.

Pros

Opportunity for exposure to insights from research and client interactions. I get to speak to dozens of clients each month and stay up to date on changes in the industry.

Cons

Largely remote, limited interactions with peers other than formal outreach. Gartner struggling to define relevance as AI continues to evolve.
