      Creative job, a lot of communication with vendors and enterprises, high visibility in the industry, respect, international travel around the globe

      Cons

      Countless job hours, you job never ends, because your counterparts work in different places around the globe and in order to collaborate, you have to adjust to different time zones.

      Pros

      Industry leader, Good training program if you can make it through, Pay is good if you make your numbers. Great contacts, great analyst community involvement.

      Cons

      Gartner is a great place to work for those without a lot of sales experience. Training is very good, but way too rigid ( "my way or the highway"). Blitz days are a pain in the rear. As a sales person I felt I was always looking behind my back for the "grim reaper"...it's a sense of being watched and tracked. Way too much management by metrics. It is a very hard place to relax and do your job.

      Pros

      It's a great job if you can get it. Fantastic colleagues, high-caliber conversations and a focus on doing good work. Great balance between written research, inquiries and conference presentations. You only travel as much as you want.

      Cons

      Pay is a bit low for the experience and caliber of people. A little too much emphasis on metrics and regimental career advancement (2 years in position before advancing).
