Pros

Great co-workers, good benefits / time off. You work at the number one company in the world for IT Research.

Cons

Working out of the satellite office doesn't allow for much growth withing the company. Upper management hired from the east coast office without giving local employees a chance to move up.

Pros

Smart research staff, good learning opportunity if you are interested in IT, many resources available to help accomplish work tasks, good place to be IF you are lucky and get a good manager (rare), a good territory and good comp.

Cons

Run from the supply chain organization. It's literally the last place you want to be at Gartner. Lots of backstabbing in sales with young and inexperienced or bad sales managers at all levels. Shady sales organization in many parts of the company. They do not care about your quality of life and you will be pressured to work LONG hours.

Pros

Top notch subject matter experts, who are very bright and willing to support the clients. True subject matter experts. Same for the Client Partners that support the sales team. Pay and benefits are competitive.

Cons

Weak sales leadership at Area Director and Regional VP level. Seem to be people who were promoted due to strong sales ability, but with no regard for their leadership skills and/or talents. Little apparent regard for balancing territories to help ensure success of the team instead of the few good old boy/girl favorites. Very tactical and transactional focus versus strategic "long" term client focus. Very cookie cutter approach to the sales process with little support for creativity. This approach has proven effective from a corporate results perspective, so they are gettiing the results they want, but it drives out the senior sales people who may be able to make and even greater contribution.
