You do learn some skills..

Cons

If you are young and a temp you are treated like crap. They ask you to work for them and write their name all over it and you never get recognized. They also don't include you in meetings.. and you are the least person whom they tell if any news around the dept. or the company overall.

Access to a wide range of experts and research; contribution is valued (you dont feel like a 'number'); lifestyle (work from home); travel is typically less than with other consulting firms.

Cons

Some clients only think you understand IT whereas Gartner's business consulting capabilities are strong as well. Clients that dont understand gartner's consulting capabilities may see you more as an extension of research than as a consulting partner. Internal performance targets sometimes questionable. Travel sometimes too limited.
