Pros

Gartner treats its employees better than any company I have ever worked for. The training, time off and added perks are unmatched. If you take advantage of what's available it can be a great springboard for your career. Looks awesome on a resume.

Cons

The compensation plan is convoluted and there are a lot of things that you do not have control over. It is a no excuses environment, any failures fall on your shoulders.

Pros

Sales professionals are given an annual quota and asked to hit it. Yes, there are forecasts and quarterly expectations. If you tune out the noise, and provide honest feedback to your manager, you have a ton of freedom. Ability to make consistent income.

Cons

Although there is no "cap" on commission, it is very difficult to make huge money as territories won't allow it. Tremendous growth has caused high attrition rates and clients notice.
