Pros

There is a great feeling of camaraderie amongst employees. Also, they start you with 21 days of PTO on your first day. Great business structure with an outstanding reputation.

Cons

The compensation is too low, and there is not an opportunity for significant bonuses as the year goes. You have to be with the company for at least 2 years before you can look elsewhere in the company for a new position, and the options for job movement is very horizontal as opposed to vertical. It is a great place to make a career after 10 years of work experience, but right out of college there is nothing.

Pros

High quality people who generally put the customer first. Competitive pay. Good benefits. Generally well regarded company by others in IT and other industries. Very good environment for those who perform.

Cons

Internal Sales process seems to have become overly complex with a too much emphasis on reporting and managing upward. Pricing flexibility and giving the customer exactly whet they need/want was often at odds with what Gartner management packaged and prices. Too much "one size fits all" strategy for pricing and service delivery.

Pros

Experienced, bright and down-to-earth colleagues, freedom to shape your job and work hours if you are delivering numbers and quality. Consultants tend to have a nice mix of confidence and humility. Access to Gartner research great asset for new consultants. Very good pay if you are successful, great pay if you exceed expectations. If you can deliver great quality on schedule, you will be rewarded and have high work-life balance. Fixed-price/fixed-scope engagements reward those who can deliver high quality reports fast.

Cons

None, really...just be aware of the requirements. Hitting utilization targets is very important almost from day one. Can be tough for those who have not developed an internal reputation yet. Must be prepared to travel if necessary to hit numbers which can be difficult in some markets (and relatively easy in others). As lower margin business (compared to Research) in a public company, financial requirements can result in high pressure on consultants to work extra hours to secure both client satisfaction and corporate profit.
