      Pros

      There are many intelligent individuals across the company divisions. The work can be intellectually challenging and also very rewarding. Most managers have their direct reports' success as an imperative.

      Cons

      There is a certain level of political gamesmanship at the middle management levels that is to be expected, but this can be frustrating to the front lines. Internal collaboration is an area that perpetually needs improvement.

      Pros

      Gartner's a rapidly growing company, and managed to performance numbers that increasingly tie to business value. This means that benefits and compensation are good, but there's a lot of change to adapt to. Co-workers are generally smart and cooperative (of course, there are always exceptions). The global nature of the business means that work can be very flexible.

      Cons

      As with any company tuned to growth, there can be long hours. And the focus on business growth - read metrics - can feel stifling.
