Pros

Gartner has a world-wide reputation for having some of the top thinkers in various industries. Being a Gartner analyst give you a tremendous amount of influence. The company supports most analysts desire/need to work from home. And, overall, the people are great to work with.

Cons

Gartner is still attempting to determine what it wants to be when it grows up. The company is really trying to position for growth, and that is causing some growing pains in the culture. Keeping up with the travel schedule can become very demanding.

Pros

Good pay, good benefits, some of the smartest people you'll ever be around. Most employees have flexible work opportunities.

Cons

Never worked somewhere where who you worked for is the most important thing. I'd meet employees for the first time and that would be the first question that I was asked. Too much red tape and overly cautious.

Pros

Fantastic office space based locally in Egham 'Gartner' brand opens many doors and is a very simple concept to sell A comprehensive portal to access any relevant information required Good salary with great commission rates Regular team meetings and an open communication ethic Social and networking opportunities Sales cycle is fairly quick and targets/quota seemed achievable Intelligent co-workers and a defined career progression path for high achievers No loop-holes or questionable work ethics - completely Objective and Independent.

Cons

Work/Life Balance can become questionable for those with family/dependents - Live to Work is defnitely the ethos Too much reliance on internal networking and forming alliances - tends to lead to bullying/harrasssment for those more focussed on work than socialising Internal CRM absolutely dire with prospecting conducted from the internet and excel spreadsheets, leading to duplicate calling and internal conflict with team members. Sales Training too disjointed and does not fall in line with actual work progression rate Sexual harrassment, inequality, and favouritism, is rife within the office environment without any disciplinary procedures enforced by middle management Very young/social environment, ideal for pre-30's only.
