Lack of Structure

Pros

No micro management. Most of management is easy going. Management sometimes listens to certain employee's suggestions. Some of the staff is easy to get along with.

Cons

Unorganized, a serious lack of training, low pay for what is expected of employees, outdated equipment, not enough employees to cover shifts due to low retention rate, some ghetto employees, low awareness of sanitation policies, low to no raises.

Pros

Job isn't hard. The people in upper management make it 100x harder than it needs to be.

Cons

14+ hr days. GM will scream at you and bellittle you to the point of tears. He's wildly in appropriate with employees uses slang and slurs to talk down to them. He has no idea how to run the company. Its falling apart and employees are quitting daily. We can barely train them fast enough. So far about 30% of the management has quit and more are starting to every day. We get new hires in and they quit after 1 or 2 shifts due to how awfully it's run

Gate Life?

Pros

Always busy They feed the people lunch each day.

Cons

*Gate No-Life - This is a 24 hrs a day/7 days a week/365 days a year and you are expected to work 10-14 hrs per day often 6 days per week (forget getting weekends and holidays off). Very high turnover of personnel. *Manual systems and processes - Tribal knowledge rules. *The system to control the customers and their requirements weakly managed creating havoc. Incorrect or missing items are the norm (not the exception). *Weak/nonexistent internal systems and controls cause stockouts and line stoppages creating chaos for all levels. *Personnel are expected to use their own credit cards (repaid after the fact by petty cash) to go to local stores to buy what they need to keep the line going. For hourly/labor - be prepared to work in a refrigerator (or freezer) environment. This is airline food preparation/catering and it is the nature of the beast.
