Pros

- Amazing co-workers and direct supervisors/management; They were top notch. - Discount was pretty good.

Cons

Where do I start? - How about with the fact that the first two weeks of "training" was watching Best Buy's propaganda videos and shadowing other employees, but nothing about troubleshooting actual problems/products for clients (Half the time they didn't know I was even there). - The holy grail of commuting 25-45 minutes back and forth to a job where your hours are constantly cut to the point that you can expect to work a only few hours a week (Even full-time employees can get their hours cut). You can also forget having benefits if you're part-time. - The training is essentially "trial by fire," where you primarily learn on the go and only have time for sit down learning in during slow times AND all the returned product backlog has been done. There is no real effort to train people which is most likely because of the constant turnover. - Being harassed about something because you're lacking numbers-wise, especially if you don't manipulate some poor customer, often elderly people, into getting Best Buy's membership. - The creme de la creme of being abused by garbage clientele on top of all of this for things you cannot control and was not your fault, mad and screaming at you because they forgot their own passcode, have to have 2FA, or that you don't have the hand of God to fix their iPhone battery, bricked Samsung phone because they forgot their own passcode, or Xfinity router or whatever thing they brought in in under a minute. - All of this for a salary barely above the state's minimum wage.

Pros

Great entry level job to make a meaningful difference in people's lives by solving their tech problems. Best Buy employee discount can be helpful and makes pay feel better than it is. The teamwork environment is also useful for developing communication skills and group problem solving.

Cons

Pay could be a lot better for the effort required to succeed. Work can become stressful when falling behind on devices for both the store and the client.
