Pros

- friendly community - aspiration to use proper instruments and effective infrastructure for software development (before acquisition by Norton) - flexible work-conditions - spacious office, own gym and canteen

Cons

- tendency to spare on new development by trying to reuse legacy code in new products and features - information security paranoia even on dev-pcs that slows down the system and sometimes even hinders the work

Gen is Symantec in blue

Business Outlook

Pros

Hybrid remote working, good work-life-balance

Cons

Ignorant mgmt team and engineering lead, that has no idea what actually happens in the teams. The company morale is low, especially Avast teams are missing "the good old Avast times" and have no trust in the company as it is implementing feedback only as a marketing stunt. Repeated and never ending layoffs hurt the company. Like at Symantec, companies are getting acquired only to be destroyed within years. Avira is next. Only goal is reducing cost, at any cost. Massive amounts of tech debt and every day it is getting worse. To summarize: everything is just a big mess.
