Pros

I arrived to General UI as an Intern from El Salvador in August, 2015. The experience has been incredible; it has been an ideal environment to improve my skills as a software developer and business professional over the last year.. Some of the practices and experiences at GUI that have impacted my career in a positive manner are: -- ‘TDD' (Test Driven Development). TDD has taught me that it is not complicated to develop quality software. The discipline of TDD allows quality naturally, thus reducing the maintenance work for bugs and giving more time to focus on solutions to new features. -- Working on a Wide Range of Projects. During my time at General UI I have worked on both web and mobile apps exposing me to many different technologies, frameworks, techniques and approaches - both technical and operational. The applications I have worked on have also spanned a number of industries and business functions such as travel, healthcare, security, and customer service. -- Pair Programming. To support a wide range of technologies and industries, we rely on Pair programming practices. Its benefits have also impacted in my career. Pair programming has allowed me to consider and apply different approaches to a problem on the fly! Listening to previous experiences from partners allowed me to learn in a way that It couldn't be found in any book. Beside that, an active rotation of partners for programming allows constant communication among all team members. Project’s knowledge is spread naturally in the team so I have been able to collaborate many different projects and progress is never stopped by unexpected events in each team member private’s life. It feels great to accomplish progress everyday as a Team as sick leave and tower knowledge are no longer problem over my shoulders! -- Understanding Technical Trends. Additionally, we have a radar of the most current technology trends in TechMarket. This intention also motivates me to keep myself updated on the newest technologies. These are the ingredients that have made of my first experience as a software developer very interesting. Working at General UI has been fascinating because this team motivates me to learn more every day.

Cons

if your intention is a big company with a unique product software/technology stack focus, General UI offers you something different. As an Outsourcing company with many projects you have to keep moving along with new necessities. Consider it as a challenge.

Pros

General UI offers the feel and excitement of a startup but is a proven and profitable company. A company that packs a punch with Test Driven Development, Paired Programming, Android, iOS, Full-Stack and Ruby on Rails engineering. General UI is obsessed with providing absolute customer service and creating beautiful, scalable and powerful software on multiple screens and wearables. They are always on the cutting edge and are heavily devoted to Internet of Things, Virtual Reality and much more. General UI offers a playful culture and a work hard play hard environment. They don't pigeon hole anyone and expect each and every developer to be open to learning new technologies. Founded by two incredible people, both named Jason who met in Montana when they were kids; your certainly feel a familial comfort when working at General UI.

Cons

The only cons are that if you are looking for a big corporate enterprise level company, this is not it. General UI offers a fantastic boutique feel but with the same standards in software as all the leading tech giants.
