      Pros

      Pros working at Genentech Love the things we do and the people we work for,,, "our patients" and their families! Rewarding to go to work everyday knowing my contributions will make a someones life a little bit better!

      Cons

      Cons of working at Genentech! I'm sure there are some but I would like to keep this on a positive note and really there are pros and cons to everything in life aren't there!

      Pros

      Medical, Dental are good. People are friendly Nice campus Good Commute options like Genenbus but poor vanpool support.

      Cons

      Roche acquisition has damaged the company to a point of no return. Management is poor. Compensation not competative. Hard to get promoted. Senior employees and scientists are leaving the company. Roche stifles creativity and independent thinking. Mistakes are not considered opportunities to grow and learn. Empolyees not promoted from within. Mangers often do not know the job/work which leads to wrong decision making. There is a new environment of hierarchy, ie decisions are top down, there is a new attitude that degrees mean more than on the job experience.

      Pros

      great life and work balance at the main campus, on site gym, 4-5 different cafeteria to choose from, campus shuttles, on site child care and car wash. Easy going work culture with focus on patients and quality.

      Cons

      Roche integration implemented more bureaucracy into the company and morale changed after rounds of restructuring.
