Pros

Decent benefits, acceptable pipeline and overall the company is still focused on the right values. In general, still one of the better companies out there.

Cons

Empire building has led to unnecessarily large teams which also resulted in pushing out some of our best and brightest. Promotions are not based on merit alone and the bar always keeps moving as to what is considered meeting the criteria for promotion.

Great benefits, smart people, great products. Diverse culture, women well represented in management. Overall, a supportive culture to work in . Great cafeteria, too.

Cons

Increased complexity since merger with Roche, lots of change in management / personelle in last year. Now a global company with more travel and global hours.

Very political. Limited growth opportunities for most. Very slow to get anything done. Genentech becomes too big and too inefficient.
