      Pros

      Amazing products, Great teams, but competition is strong for promotion. If you're looking to learn about the industry, you can't find a getter place. Work life balance is always a challenge.

      Cons

      Because of the quality of the recruitment, current employees face stiff competition for promotion. But, if you're willing to work hard, and have a good head on your shoulders, the sky is the limit.

      Pros

      Good benefits, relatively unlimited resource for doing experiments

      Cons

      SRAs don't have much to say on the project. Research is always like confirming published data and try their luck in finding drug targets rather than understanding the mechanism of disease. Not an ideal place for doing good science.

      Pros

      Opportunity to learn international regulatory agency requirements and globalization. Genentech benefits (except for salary and bonus) still intact.

      Cons

      Management (middle and upper) is mired in politics and rhetoric. Workload is exponentially increased, technical infrastructure deteriorated significantly with Roche systems, and people just cannot get anything done without staying up all night to contact international counterparts.
