Pros

Pros are easy. Good benefits, some what flex hours, ok pay rate but not enough to live on in SF, area.

Cons

Hard work and dedication is not rewarded or recognized at the company by management. It's a good environment to work in if you want to get paid for basically showing up to work. Many people at the company do very little or nothing all day and get away with it because management has no clue or they're too busy trying to climb the ladder to really care what goes on. If you are good at promoting yourself and playing the political game you will rise to the top quickly.

Pros

Focus on patients, great science, and innovation. Lots of talented employees. Unique culture of casual intensity. In terms of drug R&D, probably as good as it's reputation.

Cons

Senior management seem unaware of how competitive it is below them. Promotion opportunities are limited. Everyone takes a title cut to work at GNE. Even though there is lip service to pushing decision making down to lowest possible level, sr. management tends to micromanage everything. Very uncertain atmosphere since Roche takeover. Lots of great people have left in the last 8 months, including virtually all major players from the former GNE Exec. Comm.

Pros

The company offers many, many tools to let you do your job easier and to make your personal life easier. Great campus life, great tranportation services, great community spirit. Certain departments have more fun than others and have more opportunities for career growth

Cons

Extremely competetive! Especially if you want to internally make a career transition. There is a great difference between the research, development, and business groups on campus.
