It was great before Roche - not a knock on Roche but GNE management got too full of themselves

Working with incredibly bright people Uplifting purpose to the work Great to work with a lot of young people, helping them launch their careers

Cons

Management taking all the credit when it's the scientists driving the company's value Preoccupied with adding complexity in the name of 'business process' Too much political manuevering to look good to the Roche leaders

Low morale, but still helping patients!

Pros

Fair wages, great benefits -- you can feel good about yourself working here! Mid level managers still seem to care about what's going on.

Cons

It's a struggle. Rules are getting more stringent. More perks being taken away. Morale is suffering. Intensified feeling that senior management is either incompetent, doesn't care, or both. "Best places to work" billboard on 101 was put up the day after massive layoffs.
