2nd class citizen vibe runs wild in this entitled atmosphere. Very stunted and immature.

Cons

Say they care about people but really care less. All a sham of a Big Biotech firing fulltime workers and replacing them with lower paid contractors. Hell.

Legacy (10+ years) Genentech employees are awesome, always willing to mentor, respect ideas and from everyone. Managers are great and attempt the best for their people, but fighting a losing battle.

Cons

Reorg messed up MSAT, people became selfish, don’t appreciate colleagues contributions. People are shady and just don’t care anymore (but I know that these people actually do, as the same people were previously focused on doing the right thing, always questioning even the slightest impact on patients, and selflessly helping others).

Pay is solid, the folks in the lab doing the work are some of the best in the industry

Cons

A bloated middle management class has created an endless array of silos, committees, and processes that have significantly hindered any innovation, good decision-making, speed, or risk taking. The company has a severe aversion to any risk. Career development is almost non-existent unless you're a director's golden child. The only attributes that the middle management class seem to acknowledge is ambition and obsequiousness. Morale and energy are extremely low.
