Friendly staff. Nice cafeteria. Nice campus.

Cons

There is no work/life balance. No opportunity for advancement. No effective management. No innovation. Lots of bureaucracy. I would not recommend Genentech to a friend.

Pros

Stable company. You could stay here for a long time and relax if you don't care to move up in position. Good if you want to be a front line manager because you can get away with doing less.

Cons

Front line managers get away with not knowing much, not doing much work and get paid more for their title. Thy are more like business managers/supervisors

Pros

Good working culture. Employee safety and the quality of products really matter. The patients matter. Nice, friendly people to work with too.

Cons

Doesn't convert their temp employees as often or as fast as you'd like. Takes about 2-3 years to possibly get converted to full time regular employees. Because of this the temps have left to pursue better opportunities. This causes employees to have to waste time retraining new workers.
