I had the pleasure of working for Genentech in two different departments. I can say that my experience has been overall positive. Employees are treated wells and get a wealth of perks. Employees tend to stay long term Bus Transportation from many places around the Bay Area. It used to be free but employees pay a small fee Cellphone and Internet paid by company. Many many different company events. Almost at least once a month

Cons

Politics and position jockeying seem rapant. Big pharamecutical company tends to be conservative when it comes to new ideas and their rate of adoption. New projects may be led but unqualified personal seeking to increase their status Some projects seem to use too many resources in terms of personal and budget Pay maybe somewhat inflexible. Job offered is given as is with very little negotiation.
