Pros

Nice people. Decent benefits. Quarterly bonus structure. HR manages benefits internally (not outsourced) - so they're available onsite to assist with questions.

Cons

Unrealistic expectations. More concerned about hitting deadlines so upper management gets their bonuses than the actual success of a project. Although it's been a publicly held company for a while, it's still very much in transition. The company has an extremely aggressive growth plan but is lacking basic fundamentals to get them there. Small company mindset - they don't even realize what they don't know. Expected to constantly travel between plants without any kind of reimbursement. Micromanagement at all levels, even the executive level. Not open to flexible work options (working remote).

Pros

Only work here if you’re interning or for an entry-level job, but do not stay here for more than 3 years. Good exposure to a wide variety of products, people, and departments. It’s an easy opportunity to gain experience. There’s a handful of nice and cooperative individuals.

Cons

*Most managers don’t know what they want, which makes it extremely difficult when presenting work to them. *You’ll work two months on something, follow every instruction, and your “manager” will look at it for a second and say they don’t like it – without providing any reasoning or alternative. *Too many micro-managers working for themselves rather than working for Generac, each with their own style of running things which leads to chaos and confusion – resulting in projects walking in circles and nothing getting done. *Extremely poor and minimal communication between managers and employees, and an extreme case of people talking behind backs instead of confronting the problem and moving forward. *People share way too much information about their personal problems rather than staying professional and on-task. *Don’t be fooled by the interview, you won’t be doing any of the appealing work mentioned. *Lack of technology, and strict internet blocking - reduces learning by blocking YouTube videos. *Don’t be fooled by the pretty renovations and your own desk with nametag, it’s a trap. *I know of an individual who has lain with one or more married managers to be promoted. *I’ve seen many talented individuals leave for better companies. *Two types of people here; entry-levels who stay for less than 3 years and move on to better, and burnouts who stay here 15-20 years only to collect a paycheck. Engineers come here to end their careers.
