Pros

working at Generac beats being unemployed. Generac is the type of company you go to for a job not a career it can be a great stepping stone to reputable companies. Management is ok but employee moral is hopeless everyone from the top down is leaving or seeking employment else where.

Cons

The compensation is terrible with little improvement as you move up. Human resources has their own agenda and has no idea what goes on in this company, management is even disconnected with HR. The turn over is extremely high as employees are under appreciated and underpaid. Rather then focus on the talent they have they pull in outside resources underpay them until they get sick of it and leave.

Pros

Great place to start out at. You can build your resume up and go somewhere else. The high turnover allows for easy mobility.

Cons

Salary is about 30% lower than industry average. It is a revolving door here, people leave all the time. They do not retain good, talented employees.... Instead of paying them what they are worth, they let them walk. Most people come here for 2 years and then go to Cummins, Kohler, or CAT. Basically Generac trains employees for their competitors....

Pros

A manager level employee here is given a lot of latitude to make things work, this is great experience and can be a real positive. Company is dynamic and not afraid to take risks. Salaries are competitive and bonuses are good. Working to update offices, benefits and soft stuff.

Cons

Definitely an old boys club mentality and you have to be popular to get promoted. You work very hard, very long hours and most managers do a poor job recognizing you in even small ways. Despite working successfully on a very large project, having a long tenure, saving multiples of my salary - I was shafted twice by a new manager with less than six months at the company - once by not allowing me to bid on a job, and then firing me later Management stood by and did nothing, which to me displays a lack of integrity or loyalty.
