Pros

It's a stable job with a lot of flexibility in the working hours. They really care about the employees and there is always lot of new and interesting work coming in.

Cons

It's a defense contractor so you need to maintain a security clearance for a lot of the positions which can be tedious. Also the compensation is not quite as high as some companies in the private sector.

Pros

Tons of great people who actually do good work. Huge company with large presence in SD which allowed for different work environments (offices in Torrey Pines, Poway, RB, etc). Plenty of funding (at the time). Decent pay.

Cons

HR does not care about you. Your complaints mean nothing if you have no seniority, which is usually gained through nepotism. Outdated technology stack. Huge age gap between older developers and new grads which will eventually turn into a logistical nightmare when the older developers retire. Toxic culture around upper management's time being "too valuable" to ask them for questions/follow-ups. Uncomfortable and unnecessary segregation between full-time employees and contractors.
