Pros

It is a decent starting job, they offer more then many other companies do in the way of starting wages, benefits, and every other Friday off! the work is not taxing, and is very manageable.

Cons

Company culture...is the worst part of the job. there are "clicks" "groups" and "shifts" that are pitted against each other, and are extremely subtly aggressive. everything from gossiping and misinformation to outright lying. even some in management have favorites. or sometimes they believe the first thing they hear, and do not investigate. I believe I say none of this unfairly, i have always believed you get what you give. but when everyone is captain judge and jury before you even know a issue exists, that's wrong no matter how you look at it. every work place has its issues. and i'm not perfect, but the company as a whole has little to no integrity or real professionalism. and personally i had high hopes, and effort for a long time. but bad days out number the good by far. This is not the worst place to work. however, if it weren't for the pay i would choose a fast food restaurant over it. it is however slowly getting better.

Pros

Great insurance, 401k, pension having every other Friday off. Majority of employees take pride in themselves and the work they do.

Cons

Beware of the few bad apples at all levels that don’t want to be here but see the benefit of being more valued with more rights or being equally valued as the high performers. Support is Null, HR only gets involved when something illegal happens or when they want to stand up for the bad apples. Support is bad for Engineering has no accountability to use the schooling and skills that should be part of being an engineer. Zero work standards, what rev of the procedure is being used the answer is none because the engineer can make verbal changes at any time without having any written changes to how parts are made and experimenting on customer product instead of R and D. The only standard is the customer requirements there are not any internal processes, everyone does it the way they want and this causes everyone to blame each other instead of using the lean six sigma system where you change the process not the person. Everyone has the option to do what they like what technique the want to do at the time. One of our core values are: • We treat one another with respect and take pride in each other’s contributions It is hard to find anyone who practices this here at GA. There are allot of people that prevent you from being able to do your job. The struggle is a fight to have others see that you are of value and just as important as the few individuals that they know outside of work. The struggle is to demand Respect from co-workers and employees that work for you.
