Pros

- Likely won't get fired - Your day ends at 5

Cons

- This is not a good place for early career engineers - Very compartmentalized, you only get to see your slice of the pie and there's not a lot of growth/learning opportunities - How much you get to work on is very dependent on your manager, a poor manager will mean that you get pigeon-holed into a boring and repetitive task with no room for upward movement - There has been some very inappropriate behavior (use of slurs, yelling) though this is more of an issue of individuals. I have heard of other kinds of inappropriate behavior happening in other groups that my friends work in - Company doesn't really care about diversity or growth for their employees (the groups within GA such as WIN or GABE need to get directors to donate their overhead for funding for their events, which means that these groups are not directly supported by GA and are dependent on how well the leaders of these groups can socialize with the higher-ups. Also there's no AAPI group) - No equity, your benefits are really just the pension and a 401k match

Pros

Pension plan is a plus.

Cons

Management does not care about anything but its own rewards and is forced to lie frequently about the lower ranks. HR protects management, employees are not important.
