      OK for now, but very difficult to move up.

      Pros

      The benefits are pretty good. Start times are pretty flexible, so employees with children can get them off in the morning.

      Cons

      The pay is less than it should be (employees are undervalued) and there have been rounds of layoffs recently. It is VERY difficult to get a promotion, unless you are part of the 'in club". The defense industry is in a state of flux right now, and is unstable.

      Generally a good experience. Not a lot of job security. Limited opportunities to obtain additional skills.

      Pros

      Generally fair treatment of employees, although the evaluation system is being corrupted. Work can be technically challenging. Pay and benefits are good.

      Cons

      Increasingly political over the past few years, with the evaluation process corrupted to "justify" laying off less favored employees. Very poor senior management - not willing to make the necessary changes to make the company competitive in a changing environment. Very limited potential for growth, again due to favoritism, politics and the diversity fetish. Current layoffs were understandably the result of the downturn in the defense industry, but the laid off seemed to be disproportionately older.
