Extremely rigid work enironment

Pros

Interesting hardware and good knowledgeable co-workers.

Cons

No wfh. Teams only stay together until end of project. Constantly reminded of repercussions of getting time reporting wrong. "We had to let people go because of incorrect time reporting" was brought up at every all-hands. 10% doing fun development. 90% Going through motions of the required rigid process due to being gov defense contractor.

Pros

I have worked at GD for over 10 years. Overall, it's not too bad of a place to work. Here are some things I like: - location is great if you like the outdoors - they pay for your masters!!! - you can find interesting work (takes some digging around)

Cons

Unfortunately, there are some serious short comings which I will list below: - benefits have gotten worse each consecutive year - advancement is difficult unless you are one of the chosen ones (Engineering Leadership Program Alum). Lots of nepotism here. - poorly managed programs which are just abysmal to work on. - salary is kind of a joke 😄
