      Pros

      Sometimes the projects are challenging and rewarding. Although these are getting fewer. Had some nice stability during the recession.

      Cons

      Becoming more and more of who you are in good with. Real knowledge is not as respected. You get more respect by overhyping what you might know and dancing around the gaps. Unfortunately happens sometimes when things are critical. Helps if you are somone's "pet". More interested in meeting the letter or requirements than the spirit. And even then a lot of stuff gets out that doesn't meet reqs.

      Pros

      A lot of good and smart people to work with. Projects range from boring and old technology to interesting and cutting technology.

      Cons

      The majority of the managers suck (i.e., lack of common sense, and courtesy for people as individuals.) Look on glass doors, however, and you will see that bad management is a problem in a majority of companies.

      Pros

      Employees in same skill set as yourself are fun to work with. Coworkers share knowledge with each other. If you enjoy working overtime and traveling, there is plenty of that.

      Cons

      Intense work schedule, very little time at home with family, failing Increment 2 equipment and eventually the contract. It tends to be a good ole boy network giving better jobs to those not qualified. No raises for 3 years running while upper management / VPs are getting huge raises year after year.
