      Pros

      -A lot of smart people that are always willing to help out. -Big spending on internal research and development, so there are opportunities for interesting work. -Work/life balance is important to the company's culture.

      Cons

      -There's essentially no growth if you're staying in current position - need to apply to other jobs to move up. -A lot of paper-pushing, dull work and rare opportunities to delve into real engineering work. -Some managers don't spread work around well and people get pigeon-holed easily.

      Pros

      Live in the country. Flex hours. Normal benefits. Technology refreshed every 3 to 5 years.

      Cons

      The company will fast track children of employees that attained higher levels in mangement. It is not what you know, but who you know. Systems house only. Not a high technology firm. Effectively all employees work as hourly employees. No raises.

      Pros

      The benefits and compensation are above average. I didn't appreciate that until I started looking for another job. I enjoyed working on projects that directly helped the war fighter. Motorola / General Dynamics has a proud heritage of delivering top quality products to the military.

      Cons

      Like all big corporations there are policies, politics and procedures that seem to get in the way of simply doing a great job. This can be especially frustrating when trying to meet or exceed cost and schedule requirements.
