      Pros

      Pushes state of the art in development engineering. Fair benefits and reasonable work hours. Very heavy in processes with no thinking out of the box.

      Cons

      Poor business ethics. Management does not have an open door policy. Work is declining due to lack and cancellation of contracts. Focus on only government work provides a narrow window of business opportunity. Work that was previously done internally continues to become outsourced.

      Pros

      GD Satcom is a good, recognizable name. They are connected to the larger Company which can be a good thing if the economy sees a lull. There are many negative reviews here but there has been a large shift in focus recently that has caused many good things to be possible.

      Cons

      Unfortunately being under the larger Company also means you must abide by any directive that comes down. And if the Company as a whole does not do as well as planned financially, the lower company group gets hit harder.

      Relaxed work environment, intelligent co-workers, good pay, okay benefits, room for advancement if you're at the start of your career, good employee recognition, fair treatment, paid overtime for salaried employees (usually ... project dependent)

      Cons

      Feels like you're a tiny cog in a vast machine, when upper management decisions actually do have an impact on you it's usually a negative one, limited senior technical positions are open, less and less opportunity for employees to be creative and try new ideas
