      Technical & Wall Street achievements are impressive. Employees get squeezed on salary and benefit more every year

      Pros

      Technical accomplishments of the engineering staff are highly impressive Staff interacts well with each other. Highly motivated staff. Able to hire talented engineering graduates.

      Cons

      Complete focus on financial achievements Highly degreed, highly creative engineers are not treasured as an asset. Senior management seems to think they are easily replaceable, even though their roles require 20-30 years of focused experience. Senior management provide lip service to employee all hands meetings. Focus on high-level corporate financial achievements. Do not wish to discuss local matters, which matter most to the employees Unwilling to invest a reasonable amount of money for pursuing proposals. Wants big dollar programs only and not willing to invest in planting seeds to reap benefit in the future.

      Good people, good company, not so great management.

      Pros

      A perfect example for work-life balance. The company went through great lengths to keep the employees happy and satisfied. Lunch-time and after-work soccer, softball, hockey.

      Cons

      Communication between middle-level management and employees was non-existent, at least on the projects I worked on. Upper-level management did not communicate with the workers on the ground and were constantly lied to by their underlings. If someone spoke their mind, they got their hand slapped.

      Pros

      Pay for the South Wales area is excellent, the people I work with are very good to get along with and make the job alot more enjoyable. Technical challenges can be interesting if you are allowed to persue areas you are interested in.

      Cons

      poor prospects for promotion / career advancement if you don't continually kiss the senior managements behinds. Management sometimes refuse to listen to their engineers and make commitments engineering can not deliver to - regardless of how many engineers etc are thrown at a problem (laws of physics require more than a few engineers to rewrite).
