Great potential to stay as a Fortune 500 company but they need to learn about 'employee empowerment'.
Pros
Great benefits and investment plan, time off, flex schedule (if approved), opportunities to work on multiple programs, great place to network both inside the company and with outside customers. Warfighter focused!
Cons
Personal growth opportunity within the company was pathetic at best if you were anything BUT an engineer. If you were in a 'support' position you were not given opportunity. Senior management did NOT listen to employees that had ideas for creating or producing more business opportunities. If they did, it came across as 'their idea' which quickly fizzled because they would not have the details of the plan or idea. Management had no qualms about lying to the customer, therefore they lost numerous large programs which was the catalyst to the mass layoff of highly qualified employees. In the beginning I thought being able to write my own evaluation was fantastic, how simple and great is that? After 5 years of putting the same goals and 'stretch goals' (someone explain that to me, I still don't get it) and NOT getting any assistance in obtaining them from your supervisor, it makes it an annual exercise in futility and a complete waste of time. The former CEO was very employee centric and took the time to get to know them, this new one is only about the bottom line.
