Pros

Opportunity to work with extremely talented people across all functions. Great training ground - company does try hard to bring in external thought leaders. Summer Fridays are great.

Cons

Many AMMs are stretched way too then - the scope of the AMM desk often includes grunt work and project management that does not allow the head space needed to think creatively about driving the business. I would say Marketing is both sink-or-swim and up-or-out - don't expect any degree of hand-holding coming in even though you know nothing about the role.

Pros

Great Culture but only in US office.

Cons

India office is all about politics and victimizing people for personal ego. HR and Admin sucks. It took more than 70 days to get my full and final payment. I wonder with all the money they have or claim to have they cannot get efficient admin staff and a process for leaving employees. They have great managers training where they teach and preach how to be great manager but not in practice. All in all a manager in general mills India can screw any one of its team member's careers for personal reason or ego clashes.

Pros

General Mills has a well-deserved reputation for recruiting and developing top talent. Coming in, you will get a lot of opportunity to get training, mentoring and stretch assignments. In a matter of a few years into your career, you will have had the chance to build a resume that makes you attractive to any other company looking for top talent.

Cons

Leadership in amy function has a prety narrow idea of the kind of person that will be successful. If you don't fit the mold, you will not advance betond a certain point. Managers that don't fall into the "looks like me, works like me, thinks like me" meme will fall outside the profile of "high potential" and may get high performance ratings but will not advance.
