Pros

- Pension plan - Nice people - Good amount of vacation days - Many onsite perks at headquarters - Encouragement to take vacation (although work gets in the way of many taking all of their days off)

Cons

- Slow career growth (my peers at other companies are further along the ladder than I am) - Because people are very passive-aggressive about accelerating the career ladder, your work may not get recognized and/or your recognition may be taken by others - You must fit a certain mold; if you do not "act" the culture of General Mills, you won't go far

Pros

* Smart, highly competent teammates * Broad involvement with the entire business, not just consumer marketing * Opportunity to learn the basics and then some across a number of different categories with very different competitive situations

Cons

* Depends on the division, but some senior management teams are erratic in choosing the scenarios in which they want to have a more direct, day-to-day hand in your business, leading to a baffling slowdown and churn on key initiatives.

Pros

Unbelievable benefits, good salary, lots of opportunity for talented people. It feels great to be working for a company which is doing well, especially during a recession.

Cons

Some company policies are too dependent on the whim of your manager, such as time off and flexible work arrangements. As a result, the company encouraged options are not applied consistently across the company.
