Great people, great company, same politics of other big companies

Pros

The people that I've met here are some of the best I've met in life! I've made lifelong friends here. The benefits definitely play a role in why people stay with the company. There is a clear career path and you can climb the latter rather quickly if you work for it. Half day Friday's in the summer, if your position actually allows you to take advantage of it.

Cons

You still have to deal with politics, very hierarchical structure. Depending on your position, you could end up working really long hours. At the same time though there are people that can take advantage of the work flex (more accepting of work flex if you have kids or are married). Straight salary is under the midrange of the market, but they make up for it in benefits.

Great Company From The Top

Pros

Great benefits, Good PTO, Great Development Opportunities, Every resource made available to whoever is willing to step out of his/her comfort zone, Many opportunities to learn new technologies, programs, software and managerial techniques. Very friendly and positive work environment.

Cons

Company has trouble focusing. Too many new initiatives so hot at start and obsolete within 60-90 days. Much funds, energy and efforts deployed on fast track ideas then dropped shortly without any return. Favoristism at play. Politics a reality, making advancement/promotion a function of who you know, how well you are kissing up to them and how well you are playing the game.In fact politics here is a sport than you better practice and get better at it; otherwise you get stuck at the bottom.

Pros

Management takes time to invest. Most Managers want to provide you with the tools to achieve a work life balance. Excellent pay and Bonus Structure. You are never making decisions on an "island"

Cons

Off Shift rotations make it difficult, take time to adjust to in order to maintain a "normal" lifestyle. Weekend coverage is a difficult topic. Getting candid feedback from upwards is difficult. Decisions take time. work life balance can be difficult to achieve/maintain
