Pros

Great people who are dedication to making a great product while increasing shareholder value. You own your career path. Plently of feedback and developmental opportunties of you choose to take advantage of them. Great focus on work/life balance. Compenstation is hard to beat once you get into restriced stock award job levels.

Cons

Winters in Minneapolis are brutal !! You do get used to them, but it's depressing for 1/2 the year. Not a cutting edge company; generally a slow and steady company that is risk adverse. A company too loyal to it's employees. Definitely has it's share of dead weight that isn't dealt with.

Pros

General Mills is a great company to work for. They focus on developing their employees for senior management. The career paths are well defined and if you are a top performer, the opportunities are endless. The training and development programs are great and provide you with all of the tools you need to succeed.

Cons

At lower levels, there is some immaturity due to the large amount of new hires fresh out of undergrad. Also, the company can somtimes be too focused on recruiting diversity to the extent where they will bring in an inferior or incompetent new hire because they are of a unique background.

Pros

Good Work Life Balance, with Great Benefits. There are many great services available to employees at the corporate headquarters. The company is extremely recession proof with a very diversified portfolio. There are many jobs and functions that can be explored at General Mills.

Cons

Very large company, a do more with less (time) mentality, and currently a lot of jobs are being outsourced to India.
