      Good Company, but limited career movement

      Pros

      Great company for working mothers! Many of the managers are truly interested in developing you. If you are on the career path when you are recruited, it's easy to get to a manager level.

      Cons

      HR is very poor and do not like to get involved (other than listening). Very poor upward mobility past first level management (in Sales). Relocation is a requirement, which if you have a family, can be difficult.

      Great Employees, Could use better upper management

      Pros

      Allowed a lot of freedom in direction I wanted to take my work. Wonderful teams and good bottom level managers.

      Cons

      They lost the culture of the 80's and 90's that made it such a great place to work. Lots of perks but workloads are heavy. Used to be too many layers of management that have recently been cut so perhaps that might make things better.

      Pros

      They have a beautiful campus, and spend a lot of time, money and energy on employee development. The company has a rich history and they do a lot of good to help the communities where they work through employee volunteer programs, cause marketing campaigns that donate millions, and through their community giving programs and the General Mills Foundation.

      Cons

      As with any public company profits drive decisions so it sometimes lacks soul and doesn't always do the right thing even when that is one of the values they try to live up to.
