Pros

One man show (in the IT field) build experience in several domain (electronics, mechanics, medical, IT, hardware, software, training skills and much more)

Cons

Due to the load of work and one man show work, the responsibility is only on me.

Pros

The people at the main office are responsive and will work with you on any issues you have. They recently switched 401(k) plans after some employees complained about the high rates on the previous one.

Cons

-The benefits are still pretty expensive. -Under our new contract last year, the base closure policy changed for GTS contractors working at my work site. Suddenly we are no longer payed in case of base closures for any reason, unless we take payed personal leave. We work alongside government employees who are payed, basically working the same job as many of them. I don't know if the change is unique to GTS, or if the government has decided to treat all contractors as second-class employees. The effect of this policy change has been, frankly, demoralizing.

Pros

The front office is responsive and capable. Questions are answered quickly and helpfully.

Cons

This company will procrastinate on paperwork to the point that you won't have time to negotiate or read through the documents fully. They will give very short notice on significant changes to policy or benefits. Health benefits are expensive compared to that offered by similar companies. The same is true for their retirement benefits. There is no policy in place for evaluating the quality of work of contractors located in another state from the main office. Because of this, you should not expect to ever receive a raise beyond cost of living increases.
