Pros

Working with the patients is the only pro that comes to mind.

Cons

It's all about production! They make it very difficult to use your personal, vacation, & sick time. If you're sick Monday -Friday you are expected to work the following Saturday to make it up and not allowed to use your sick time! They do not give pay raises ever! No appreciation or recognition at all! This company is cheap and doesn't purchase needed supplies or equipment! Worst health ins ever!! Extremely high premiums and deductibles!!

Pros

Family like environment, residents become part of your family and some employees. Being there for friends, family and patients during one of the worst times of their lives.

Cons

It's ALL about being a business not a healthcare center. I haven't had my yearly "raise" 10% of my disgraceful salary for 2 years. For those like me who think you work your hardest, extra hours, help everyone and anyone who needs it.....it will get you NO WHERE WITHIN GENESIS. It's a joke, I've become to resent my building and the company as a whole. I hate going to work but am petrified of going somewhere else because I've put so many years and effort into Genesis health care.

Pros

Opportunity to work, Standard pay low end but standard, great dedicated coworkers, interesting patients, valuable experience for beginning nurses, if you like OT the opportunity exists

Cons

Will push OT constantly if you like OT you may change your mind at some point, Benefits crappy and cost too much with too much for premiums and deductibles, Scheduling PTO or Vacation is a major hassle you will be so stressed out by that process alone you will need more days off than you are asking to have
