Pros

If you need to relocate, there is probably an opening wherever you are going. Some good education programs. Love my team members

Cons

High productivity even for their DORS. It is difficult to take time off and you are only allowed a day or two at a time. My manager and upper management used to be great, but those people left a long time ago and have been replaced with people who only care about profits. Patients and employees are an afterthought. Health benefits are expensive, especially if you have a family. Pay freeze for the last 2-3 years.

Pros

Good facility rehab team. Good education regarding standardized cognitive testing.

Cons

1. VERY difficult to take time off. Want to take your child to have an unexpected surgery? Planning to move to a new house? These are just two examples that would be considered not an excuse to take a day off without at least 6 months notice. If you need to take a day off without enough notice, you are required to make up the work on Saturday. 2. Mandatory traveling to meet full time hours if caseload is low. Genesis finds that it is perfectly reasonable for a person to travel up to over an hour between buildings to get standard hours no matter what external situations apply (I.e. Single parent, parent in the hospital, etc). Don't want to travel? They technically don't make you, but if travel opportunities are available and you don't take them, you can't use your PTO to make up the hours. It's a rule. So you get less than 30 hours for the week, and your manager gets an email, and you are likely to lose your health benefits through the company because they'll change your status to part time the first chance they get. 3. Refusal to pay for things needed for employment such as state licensure.
