Pros

People are nice, you have decent autonomy in your job and even opportunities when you work hard. Stable leadership team.

Cons

People are leaving left and right because of 1) Low salary across the board, minimal raises (barely above inflation rates) 2) No Equity. Private Equity owned means that only the top 1% get stocks. 99% of SaaS companies, in current market conditions, will offer a better package. Why settle for less? 3) Not a fun place to work for. Motto is "work hard, work hard". Except during special sales events or in specific locations. 4) Zero talent management. (for the HR reading, no dishonest feedback please) 5) Customers come last (or just before employees).

Pros

Works with some very large companies. Lots of innovation.

Cons

Gross arrogance across the board. Culture is terrible, they claim to be great, but prepare to be put into a class type of environment.

Pros

The combination of the Genesys and Interactive Intelligence product lines made perfect sense and complimented each other well. Neither company could have moved into the others space as successfully as combining the two.

Cons

I have been through multiple acquisitions in my career and in every one of them we were told what a great cultural fit the two companies were. This has NEVER been true. You cannot combine a glass of vodka and a glass of orange juice and just get more orange juice. You get a totally different drink and this was the case with Genesys and ININ. From a product standpoint it made perfect sense to combine the companies but the ownership structure was not a good fit. The investors that own Genesys are looking to get their 30% ROI in the next couple of years and are willing to make whatever sacrifices are necessary to get them there. ININ was a company that was focused on building something for the long run and made investments that were in alignment with that philosophy. And when Genesys gets sold again to Oracle or Microsoft or whomever, the culture will again become an entirely new thing, so don't say "It's a great culture fit" because you won't know.

Thanks for your post. You’re right – when you mix two distinct cultures together, you get something different. But to stay with your analogy, even though vodka may be good on its own, and orange juice is definitely good on its own, together they are still good! Well, depending on your preferences, I suppose. And that’s just it – change is welcome from some perspectives, and challenging from others. Our attrition is below the industry standard – yet we continue to monitor employee satisfaction and take action wherever we see opportunities. We have great investors who truly care about the people - and invest in our growth. Again, thanks for your comments and I wish you well in your future endeavors.
