Pros

Great perks and benefits (subsidized bistro, exercise classes, RRSP contributions, etc), and friendly colleagues. Fast-paced and always lots of new things to learn - personal and career growth is encouraged and supported.

Cons

Area is not super accessible by public transit, but still doable.

Pros

- The company is profitable and healthy - The company is #1 worldwide at nearly everything they do - Leadership has long term vision - Good bonus program (3x 3.33% in a year if the company is profitable) - Annual raise that matches inflation guaranteed. Possibility of higher raise based on performance. - Subsidized cafeteria. Meals cost about $4. - Financially sound. They'd didn't lay off their office staff through covid. If there's a company that can wither an economic crisis without mass layoffs, my bet would be on this one.

Cons

- Leadership wants RTO. We were just told we'll have to be at the office 3x a week starting in September 2025. And I get the feeling that they are eyeing increasing it to 4 or even 5 days within a couple of years. In any case they wouldn't commit to stop at 3 days in office, citing wanting to strengthen "company culture" and "having to find balance" . - Leadership describes company as a big family without realising how disingenuous and toxic that is. - Establishment of core work hours 10-3 paired with a policy of having to be at the office for 8 consecutive hours, excluding lunch. Forget avoiding traffic unless you show up very early. You can't finish your work day at home - Leadership has generally shown signs of an outdated mentality when it comes to time off, sick days, summer hours and 4 day workweek. You only get 3 weeks to start, 1 more if you stay for 5 years. You also only get 5 sick days per year. Repeated calls for summer schedule or 4 days workweek have been rejected. - Depending on your team the work might be very boring. The main product is established in its market. The physical security industry isn't very fast paced frankly. To startup people this will be dull. Most of your work will likely be maintenance and minor upgrades. - For Montreal people, the office is located near the airport. If you live east of Mont Royal, or on one of the shores expect well over 1hr of traffic per trip.

Pros

- The first team I worked on was very professional, lead gave constructive feedback and seemed to genuinely care. - Cafeteria at the Montreal HQ is nice.

Cons

- They offered me $20k lower than what I was asking for, and after talking to other employees I found that they were also underpaid. - Return to office was enforced company wide even though half the team was at a different office. - After a year I was moved to another team, and that’s where things fell apart, I was fired after a few months with next to no feedback on the reasons behind it from either my lead or my manager.
