Pros

-Great resume builder -Autonomy (but this comes with little guidance) -Nespresso machines

Cons

Nepotism and professional ladder climbing run this office more than competence. It is a very dangerous place to work if you have a family for more than one reason. One being that you could be fired at any minute because a project that senior leadership thought they would win didn't come though. Gensler does not retain earnings in large enough quantities to cushion all the new hires that they have all the time. Secondly, people are always cheating on their spouses with colleagues (no joke). It is a revolving door. I witnessed an entire studio of 50 people turn over in a matter of a couple years.

Pros

Lives and breathes a People First Culture. Truly cares about their team members. Open to feedback and making improvements.

Cons

Gensler requires 5 days a week in person in the office even through we were all productive WFH 100% of the time during COVID. We respect the need for face to face collaboration but this is easily achieved with 3 days a week in the office.

Hypocrisy

Pros

Great people - but how long for?

Cons

This was a great place to work, especially the last couple of years the culture has been so good. But the recent decision to force everyone back 5 days a week to the office (with very little explanation or advanced warning) has destroyed morale. Gensler has been very public in singing the praises of hybrid work, which makes this a bitter pill to swallow. They have stirred so much anger and resentment with this decision - which feels like a betrayal. Contrary to public appearance, this is not a progressive, flexible, forward-thinking place to work. They have shown their true colours - regressive, with no regard for neurodiversity, wellbeing, work/life balance, or their employees' needs.
