Soulless corporate monster

Pros

Big brand name. Some talented people for sure.

Cons

Don’t expect to be treated humanely. They hire and fire on a whim. Covid they laid off ~40% companywide and managers not allowed to give recommendations for former employees… that is just plain evil, disgusting, and despicable practice.

We appreciate your feedback and will share your comments with the firm’s leadership. Your are however, misinformed in terms of layoffs during COVID. Similar to the majority of firms, we found it necessary to downsize as a result of the pandemic impact on our business. Our company wide reductions weren't anywhere close to the 40% you have claimed in your post. That's simply a complete untruth.

Pros

Big corporate benefits. Exposure to renowned clients and projects.

Cons

You really gotta suck up to climb up this corporate ladder; do as many extracurricular, kiss up to all management and inhale the kool-aid to make it somewhere. Hard work alone doesn't pay off here. You really gotta push to get exposure to to cool project and not get stuck doing boring tenant fit outs or CA only. Management loves to play to favorites, so you better hope to be one to get exposure to good opportunity.
